Clay Pigeon is quick and fun, and it is relatively easy to get up to speed on as a beginner. Some tricky turns and nuances give more experienced drivers plenty to learn, which makes for close racing because everyone ends up within a few tenths of each other.
I have only driven Clay Pigeon in a Club100 two-stroke kart. This guide combines my own laps with input from several drivers who know the circuit in a four-stroke. It is aimed at beginners and intermediate drivers.

Pit Straight and Billy's Blind
The Pit Straight has a flat-out kink towards the end and is easily the longest straight on the track. You will be at top speed by the time you reach the end, so be ready for Billy's Blind. As the name suggests, it sneaks up on you. It is a long right-hand bend with two apexes. Take the first on the inside, let the kart drift to the middle of the track, then run out to a fairly wide exit. If you have a good run on someone, you can go up the inside on the way in and push them wide. Be careful, though, because it is an easy place to pick up a black flag if you get it wrong.
The Esses
The Esses are a very narrow chicane, so there is little room to overtake. You still need the best possible speed on the exit onto Sturmey Straight. It takes a while to get right. You need a wide line out of Billy's Blind, then you can go almost flat out through both parts of the chicane. Your entry angle is the key, so don't be afraid to use the kerb. Whatever you do, don't run wide on the exit. It is bumpy there and will slow you right down.
Sturmey Straight and the Hairpin
Move from right to left as you head up Sturmey Straight, and you will arrive at the Hairpin carrying a lot of speed. You can brake much later here than you would expect, so try different braking points. Don't go too deep and run wide, though, because that leaves the door wide open. The Hairpin has a fairly late apex. Use a little of the kerb on the left as you exit, then move to the right of the track ready for the Horseshoe.
The Horseshoe, the Right Hand and the Top Bend
Exit speed matters most here, because the rest of the lap is almost flat out. Hit the first apex of the Horseshoe, stay as close as you can to the second, then drift out to the right as you exit to carry as much speed as possible. From there you go into the Right Hand flat out, driving straight through the middle of the corner before drifting out to the left. The Top Bend should be just about flat, perhaps with a small lift, and the exit uses some of the kerb on the left.
From there you are back onto the Pit Straight for the next lap.
